This afternoon I met with David Reimer and Jenny Brown near Vernon, TX. We traveled
up hwy. 287 toward the Childress area where storms were beginning to fire.
On the NW side of Childress we were treated to a very picturesque sight.
A slow moving supercell that was tornado-warned.
I traveled south of Childress and caught another angle of the storm near Tell,TX.
Continuing further south I entered Paducah just after a new cell had caused some damage in town.
Roofs blown off, overhead doors blown in, building and auto glass broken with debris strewn about.
East of town I observed an unusual sight. Here is a time lapse video.
Just south of town I came across a grass fire near an electric power station.
I'm guessing it was started by arcing electrical lines in the very high winds.
Making my way to Guthrie I headed east where I caught up to the SE moving storm west of Benjamin.
Encountering some ~ 1" hail along the way heading east to Seymour I again met with
David and Jenny. We stopped SE of town to catch the last bit of daylight as it
back lit the storm.
